Concise account. The parish of St Ann began when the Rector of St Paul's church, Warrington began weekly evening services in a former nonconformist chapel in 1859. The new church was consecrated in 1869. It closed late in 1995 ( and was converted into an indoor rock climbing centre ). A new building was eventually opened in 2000.
Contains a selection of images, including an architect's drawing of the original church and a photograph of the new St. Ann's in 2000.
p6-9 of the pamphlet explains the spelling variance of St Ann's or St. Anne's, both of which have been used.
p22 mentions a "mysterious explosion" at the Alliance Box Works on Orford Lane, which damaged the church.
p26 mentions the purchase of a Nissen Hut from Dunham Massey. Also mentioned is the heating of the church using waste steam from Tetley-Walker's Brewery.
